Swan City September Academy is open to all skaters, especially those working toward USFS Tests in skating skills, singles, and ice dance. Ice is available throughout clinic hours for private lessons with guest or home coaches. On-ice and off-ice Specialty Classes will be offered, taught by guest coaches. While all skaters are welcome to participate, Academy offerings are most geared toward skaters in Freeskate levels and above.

COLLIN BRUBAKER
Collin is from Chicago, Illinois. He started skating at the age of six following in the footsteps of his older siblings. Collin is a former team USA member. He is a US National Junior Silver Medalist and represented the USA in ISU Junior World Championships, ISU Grand Prix Skate Canada, and other international competitions. After finishing his competitive career, he completed his degree in Finance & Communications at Eastern Michigan University.

ANGIE VANDERMISSEN
Originally from Michigan, Angie spent 12 years as a Principal Soloist and Choreographer for Royal Caribbean’s Ice Show productions and toured six times with Broadway on Ice. She also served as Principal Soloist, Assistant Choreographer, and Performance Director for Kaleidoscope at Ocean Park Hong Kong, where her collaboration with two-time Emmy winner Sarah Kawahara helped earn the show the 2016 IAAPA Brass Ring Award. Additionally, she performed in Opera Festival on Ice in Muscat, Oman, accompanied by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Angie also worked as Assistant Choreographer for the Miami of Ohio Synchronized Skating Team alongside Sarah Kawahara in 2014-2015.
A U.S. Figure Skating Double Gold Medalist and the 2001 National Collegiate Figure Skating Champion, Angie trained under a competitive scholarship at the Detroit Skating Club.
Beyond the ice, Angie has an extensive dance background and holds a Bachelor of Science in Health and Fitness Management.
Passionate about coaching both figure skaters and hockey players of all levels, Angie blends her expertise in skating and dance to inspire movement, technique, and creativity. -

Brittyni Carlson
Brittyni comes to Beaver Dam with 21 years of coaching experience and 5 years professionally as a skater. She currently is a staff coach at Shattuck St Mary’s School, including their nationally recognized summer camp, and she is the coach of the University of Minnesota Intercollegiate figure skating team. She is also a guest coach for the American Ice Theatre of Minneapolis Seminar.
Prior to beginning her coaching tenure, Brittyni spent 5 years performing as a professional ice skater, in which 4 of those years included touring and skating in Europe with Holiday on Ice. She trained at the International Skating Academy in Utretcht, Netherlands, and trained adagio/pairs skating in Australia with Olympic coaches.
Her testing credentials include achieving her USFS Gold Freeskate test, USFS Gold Skating Skills test, USFS Gold Dance test, USFS Gold Solo Freedance test, and USFS Preliminary Pairs Test.
In addition to her credentials as a coach and professional skater, Brittyni has 5 years teaching experience in aerial arts specializing in lyra, silks, hammock, and pole. She is a Certified Cirqfit Lyra instructor and a professional lyra skating specialty act performer. Experience as an ACE certified personal trainer.
